Terms of service
Last updated: 16 August 2026
What you can expect from us, and what we need from you.
These are the terms you agree to when you buy from Pretty Pickled or use our website. They set out what you can expect from us and what we need from you. Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.
- Everything is made to order, so please check your size before you buy.
- You still have 14 days from delivery to change your mind. Made to order does not change that.
- Faulty or wrong item? Tell us and we'll sort it, at our cost.
- The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. No surprise fees.
1. Who we are
Pretty Pickled Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC692693), trading as Pretty Pickled at prettypickled.co.uk.
- Address for correspondence: Office 7, 35-37 Ludgate Hill, London EC4M 7JN
- Email: hey@prettypickled.co.uk
Our shop runs on Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform and checkout.
These terms were last updated on 16 August 2026.
2. These terms
By using our website or placing an order you accept these terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use the site.
We may update these terms, for example if the law changes or we change how we work. The version published here when you place your order is the one that applies to that order, so it's worth a read each time. We will never change the terms of an order you have already placed.
You must be at least 18 to place an order, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
3. Placing an order
Adding something to your basket is not a contract. Here's how it actually works:
- You place your order and pay at checkout.
- We send an order confirmation email. This confirms we've received your order, not that we've accepted it.
- A contract exists between us when we email to say your order has been dispatched, or for gift vouchers when the voucher is sent to you or your recipient.
Occasionally we may not be able to accept an order, for example if an item is unavailable, we've spotted a pricing error, we can't get authorisation for your payment, or we suspect fraud. If that happens we'll tell you and refund anything you've paid in full.
Orders through this website are for personal use, not for buying new stock to sell on. We may refuse or cancel orders that look like they're for resale, such as unusually large or repeated orders of the same design. If you'd like to stock Pretty Pickled in your shop, that's a different conversation and a welcome one: email hey@prettypickled.co.uk and ask about wholesale.
Passing on clothes you've actually worn is another thing entirely, and we're all for it. Sell, swap or gift your preloved Pretty Pickled on Vinted, eBay, Depop or anywhere else you like. Keeping clothes in circulation and out of landfill is the whole point of making them properly in the first place.
Please double check your delivery address and size before you order. Because we make each piece to order, we can only change or cancel an order before it goes into production. Email us as soon as you can and we'll do our best.
4. Prices and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling and include UK VAT where it applies.
- The total you pay, including delivery, is shown before you confirm your order. We don't add fees at the last moment.
- Delivery is free on UK orders over £60. Below that, the delivery cost is shown at checkout before you pay.
- We take payment when you place your order, through the payment methods shown at checkout.
- Prices can change, but changes never affect an order you've already placed.
If we've made an obvious pricing mistake and you could reasonably have spotted it, we don't have to sell at the wrong price. We will contact you first and give you the choice of paying the correct price or cancelling for a full refund.
5. Made to order, and when you'll get it
Every Pretty Pickled piece is embroidered to order in the UK. That's deliberate: no dead stock, no waste. It also means orders take a little longer than mass-produced clothing.
Dispatch and delivery estimates are shown on the product page, in your basket and at checkout. They are estimates, not guarantees, and they depend on the delivery service you choose. If something is going to take significantly longer than we said, we'll tell you.
Your order becomes your responsibility once it's delivered to the address you gave us. If a parcel goes missing in transit, that's on us to resolve, so get in touch.
For full delivery options, timings and costs, see our shipping page.
6. Changing your mind, returns and faults
You have a legal right to cancel most online orders within 14 days of receiving them, and to return the goods for a refund. Making an item to order does not remove that right, and we don't try to. Our full process, timings and how to start a return are on our returns and exchanges page.
If an item is faulty, damaged, or not what you ordered, tell us and we'll put it right at our expense. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If they aren't, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund depending on the circumstances.
7. Gift vouchers
- Gift vouchers are issued as a code and sent by email to you or the recipient you name.
- They can be spent on anything on our website, in one go or across several orders, until the balance runs out.
- Vouchers can't be exchanged for cash, and they can't be used to buy another gift voucher.
- If an order costs more than the voucher balance, you pay the difference at checkout.
- Please look after the code. We can't replace vouchers that are lost, deleted or shared with someone else.
- If you cancel an order that was paid for with a voucher, we refund it back onto a voucher.
You have the same 14 day right to change your mind about buying a voucher, as long as it hasn't been redeemed.
8. Reviews and anything you post
We publish real reviews from real customers. We don't write reviews ourselves, we don't pay anyone to leave a positive one, and we don't delete honest reviews just because they're critical. We may remove content that is abusive, misleading, unlawful or clearly not about a product we sell.
If you post a review, photo, comment or idea:
- You confirm it's your own work and true, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights or break the law.
- You give us permission to use, adapt and publish it on our website, in our emails and on our social channels, with credit where we can.
- You can ask us to take it down at any time by emailing us.
Please don't send us confidential information or ideas you expect to be paid for.
9. Our designs and content
Our slogans, designs, artwork, photography, logo and website content belong to Pretty Pickled Ltd. You're very welcome to share and enjoy them, but please don't copy, reproduce, embroider, print or sell them, or anything confusingly similar, without our written permission.
10. Using our website
Please don't use our site or products to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, upload anything harmful, scrape or copy the site, or interfere with how it works. We may suspend or withdraw access if someone does. We do our best to keep the site available but we can't promise it will never be down.
11. Our responsibility to you
We're responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We aren't responsible for loss that isn't foreseeable, or for business losses: our products are sold for personal use, so if you use them for a business we won't be liable for lost profit, lost business or lost opportunity.
We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as extreme weather, strikes, courier failures or supply problems. If one happens we'll let you know and, if the delay is significant, you can cancel and get a refund for anything you've paid for and not received.
We remain fully liable for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We do not limit any of these.
12. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
13. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, email hey@prettypickled.co.uk and tell us what happened. We aim to reply within 3 working days and to sort things out quickly. If we can't resolve it between us, you can take a complaint to your local Trading Standards service via the Citizens Advice consumer helpline.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in the courts of the country you live in, and you keep the benefit of any consumer protections that apply where you live.
Thanks for reading the boring bits. Stay pretty pickled.
